Advocacy: Stand up for the Arts

The arts in NH are in danger

Funding for the New Hampshire State Council for the Arts (NHSCA) is on the chopping block. NHSCA, established in 1965 and responsible for providing funding to artists and art organizations for decades, faces elimination at the state level. Funding cuts have passed in the House (April 10th, 2025) and a vote now moves to the State Senate.

What can you do?

Contact your state Senator via phone, email or mail. They can be found at the link below. If you’re visiting Portsmouth, NHAA can assist you with finding your rep or sending a letter. Portsmouth Historical Society has an advocacy table set up on the second floor at 10 Middle Street to write letters.
