Sheafe Warehouse Press Release
PORTSMOUTH – The New Hampshire Art Association’s 2018 summer exhibit and sale at Sheafe Warehouse in Portsmouth’s historic waterfront Prescott Park opens Saturday, June 30, at noon with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m.
Paintings, photographs, small sculpture and notecards created by 50 artist members of the NHAA will be displayed in the historic building.
“We asked the artists to submit smaller works to make it easier for people visiting the exhibit to be able to take their purchases with them,” said Renee Giffroy, president of the association’s board of directors. “Many visitors will most likely be tourists and those attending shows and concerts at Prescott Park.”
Demonstrations of artistic techniques and all media will be scheduled on Sunday afternoons and hands-on children’s art activities (print-making, clay and carved stone sculpture, batik, and weaving) will be offered free of charge on Saturdays.
Visit www.nhartassociation.org after June 20 for specific dates and times for the demonstrations and children’s activities. The exhibit continues through Aug 26. The Sheafe Warehouse will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 to 5 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 12 to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 12 to 5 p.m. It is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
