Artist Biography – John Kenyon
John is a businessman by day and a local portrait artist and illustrator by night. Although John has been painting portraits his entire life he seriously began painting after he was done raising his children. Whether painting a person or a beloved pet, John takes his inspiration from all that makes a living being an individual and captures that spirit on canvas. As a medium John prefers painting in oils because he loves the vibrant colors and sculptural qualities that oil paints have to offer. Most of his work is held in private collections and predominantly does commissioned portraits.
John recently completed an exhibit at the AVA Gallery entitled “Life Lessons” that included a series of portraits honoring individuals who inspire others on a personal level.  His work has recently been on display that the Quail Hollow Community Galleries in West Lebanon, NH.  You can also periodically find his pieces on display at the New Hampshire Artist Association Gallery in Portsmouth New Hampshire.

John is a member of the New Hampshire Art Association, the Nashua Area Artists Association and is a patron member of the AVA Gallery in Lebanon New Hampshire.  When not in Lebanon, John spends much of his summer on the seacoast in Ogunquit Maine.
