NHAA offers oil painting demo
PORTSMOUTH – The New Hampshire Art Association will be offering an oil painting demonstration by Todd Bonita on Nov. 13 at its Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery on State Street.
Bonita, the owner of Todd Bonita Art Gallery, will be demonstrating a layering and glazing process borrowed from the Renaissance. He will be talking about the seven elements of picture making and how participants can rewire their brains to think like an artist.
Bonita grew up in Winthrop, Massachusetts where he “fell in love with the ocean.” After studying at the Art Institute of Boston, he continued a post baccalaureate study of classical painting and drawing at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. He currently maintains a small studio space at the Button Factory in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He has galleries in Portsmouth and Ogunquit, Maine.
“This workshop will be great fun, packed with information and good company,” said Levy Gallery manager Carol Reynolds.
