Schuyler Dragoo

Schuyler Dragoo is an interdisciplinary artist and musician in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She studies the philosophy of technology; her work moves between the more-than-human, disability, and perception. As a neurodivergent person, she learned to read systems from the inside, mimicking to understand, building understanding through small gestures. She is fascinated by translation and communication across difference: what gets missed, added, and refused when one thing tries to become another. She paints geese, a wrapped figure, a subway light. She builds creatures from artificial flowers and watch faces. She spent a year honking at geese and made Simulacra Goose, where AI mimics her mimicking a goose. She moves objects mid-scan so the digital diverges from the physical, watches how machines categorize it, then collages them with found footage, her own videos, and satellite imagery. She thinks about her practice as absurdity as offering. In 2026, she was a Guest Lecturer and Field Guide Mentor at the Royal College of Art. She holds an MFA from Tufts SMFA and was a 2025 Kennedy Center Emerging Artist and CREA Contemporary Art Prize finalist. Her work has been shown with the Millennium Film Workshop and The Wrong Biennale and featured in Digital America.
