Mark O’Neil
Mark O’Neil, b. 1961, currently lives and creates in Newport, New Hampshire. His diverse education, including Art History, Printmaking, Computer Graphics, influences his art and philosophy.
O’Neil skillfully combines technology, pre-press, and hand printing techniques, along with unconventional halftone and separation methods, to create visually captivating images. Mark’s non-representational artwork, inspired by naturally occurring patterns, features a painterly surface achieved through meticulous selection and composition of deconstructed photographic imagery. Mark’s unique process infuses his paintings with a sense of dynamism reminiscent of action and field painting, despite the static nature of serigraph stencils. Mark believes Art is to be individually experienced and interpreted uniquely, hence he has ceased to provide descriptive titles.
