Born in Oak Park, Illinois with a family of eight, Thieme migrated to Stamford, Connecticut where she spent most of her childhood years. Upon graduation from Southern Conn. State College her art career began in illustration and design in a Connecticut art studio. Always yearning for a more rural, quiet life she soon found herself in New Hampshire where she freelanced with local art studios, then began teaching Art at the local high school. After rewarding years teaching she pursued a career of a full time artist in her studio/gallery on Pipe Dream Farm in Swanzey, New Hampshire. Her energy ever since has been devoted to her passion of painting ~ particularly the challenging medium of watercolor.
