The paintings of New Hampshire Art Association artist Emily Moore will be on display at the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce. “Painting is a discovery process for me,” Moore said. “Perhaps a spray of flowers attracts my attention, like the lilies in ‘The Secret Garden’ and ‘Stairway to Heaven’ pieces. Or my feelings might prompt a painting, like the feelings behind the 2016 election, which led to ‘Shifting, All Shifting’ and more recently to ‘Crisis’.
In the summer of 2016, Moore was in Greece and was very moved by the children in a refugee center. “They were just like my own grandchildren,” she said. “Friendly, respectful, eager to learn and engage.”
Since then, Moore has been selling notecards of her paintings at crafts shows and on her website, www.emilymoore.com. The cards are $15 for a 4-pack and she donates $10 of that to the International Rescue Committee.
