“Seasonal New Hampshire”
The New Hampshire Art Association is once again partnering with Church Landing at Mill Falls to exhibit and sell its members’ work in a space located near the Cascade Spa.

A new exhibition opening July 16 and titled, “Seasonal New Hampshire,” features the paintings of Jane Davis Copp and BJ Eckardt, and is a celebration in works of art of the sights and offerings found in New Hampshire throughout the year.

PORTSMOUTH – The New Hampshire Art Association is offering live model drawing sessions each month beginning Feb. 13, at its Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery at 136 State Street.

This is a two-hour drawing session with a clothed model. There will be timed poses and all levels of experience are welcome. There is no instruction or critique, but if artists wish to share their artwork at the end of the session, time can be allowed to do so.
Bring a sketchpad, graphite or Conte pencils, kneaded or gum erasers (no paint, ink or pastels.) These sessions are open to NHAA members and non-members and are coordinated by artist Joanna Novembrino.

No registration necessary. Just drop in and pay at the session. Fee is $10 for NHAA members and $15 for non-members.

Dates are Wednesday evenings: Feb. 13, March 20, April 17, May 15, June 19 and July 17 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Understand your Digital Camera with Joannna Novembrino

Get to know your camera, improve your composition, learn how to use your lenses, create depth of field, control speed and action.
Each class is divided approximately in half, with the first half being a demonstration and the students using their own cameras, the second half consisting of a critique of each student's photos.

 Time:   Thursday evenings 6-9pm

Dates: 5 Weeks - July 11, 18, 25 & Aug 1, 8

 Space is limited!  Registration Required by Friday, July 5, 2019

Cost: NHAA members $135, non-members $150

 Joanna has been teaching photography for over 20 years. After receiving her Certificate in Photography form the New Hampshire Institute of Art, she taught Black & White Darkroom I & II and two camera courses at the Institute for 11 years. Since 2002, she has taught basic and advanced photography courses at Concord Community Education. Joanna encourages her students to not only learn about their cameras and various photographic techniques, but also to use photography as an artistic medium for self-expression. In her professional career, Joanna worked as a Senior Technical Writer for several high-tech firms. She is currently the Vice President of the New Hampshire Art Association, and enjoys photography, oil painting, reading, and music.

The sculpture of Lenny Novak done in natural materials will be on exhibit for the month of June at the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery.
Novak is both Abenaqui and Algonquin. His work is sculpture done in natural materials with the exception of the synthetic sinew he uses for its length due to the complexity of his web for dreamcatchers. These dreamcatchers are based on the Objewa in most aspects, but he is the only person known in the world that does his Lonewolf Web. Once you view his work, you will always recognize it for its uniqueness.

The show titled, “Super Natural Dreams,” uses antlers, horns, burl, minerals and brass.
