PORTSMOUTH – Winning entries accepted into the 38th annual Jack Parfitt Exhibition were announced during the show’s opening reception Friday, Sept. 1, at the New Hampshire Art Association’s Robert Lincoln Gallery.
First place went to Ronnie McClure for a photograph titled, “Horizon.” McClure received a $300 gift certificate to Hunt’s Photo & Video and $100 worth of MOAB paper products.
Richard Moore’s “The Encounter” took second place with a prize of a $250 gift certificate to Image Arts Etc. Third place went to Kristin Burchsted for her piece titled, “Gnarly.” Burchsted received a $100 gift certificate to Hunt’s Photo & Video.
Honorable mentions went to Renee Giffroy for “Regatta”; Megan DeBloise for “Haunted”; and Joanna Novembrino for “Tree at the Temple, Prague.”
The winning entries were chosen from 52 selected works by juror Gary Sampson, the state’s artist laureate. There were close to 100 individual entries for the open juried show.
The show is held each year in memory of Jack Parfitt, a past board member of NHAA, who was also an adventurer and expert photographer who spent his last 12 years traveling extensively.
