Patricia Schappler “Narrative Within Contemporary Art”
Patricia Schappler will be giving a gallery talk , ‘Narrative Within Contemporary Art’ at the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery on Saturday, September 19 at 2:00 pm. This event is part of the New Hampshire Art Association’s Guest Artist Lecture and Dialogue Series. Patricia will discuss her current exhibition at the RLL Gallery, ‘The Resuscitation Series’ with a focus on her process and approach to materials as they relate to narrative content.
Patricia Schappler received her Masters of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting from Brooklyn College, New York, and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing from the University of New Hampshire. She is represented by Art 3 in Manchester, NH and has shown nationally as well as in Ireland. Schappler is the recipient of over forty drawing and painting awards, and is published in several poetry and drawing publications. She currently teaches at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester, NH.
Born in Nashua, New Hampshire, Patricia is one of eleven children, is married, and is the mother of four children who are frequent models in the work she describes as ‘narrative, familial, and symbolic’.
